What is PicsArt Double Exposure Effect?

PicsArt Double Exposure” is a part of Creative Image Editing where two images are set one above the other using the Layers Tool.

Most artists like to add a Tree or a Forest in the hair. Typically of a women’s.

We’re gonna do the same but without the Tree. We will be using a Ship for this edit.

How To Create a Double Exposure Effect in PicsArt?

In order to create a Double Exposure Effect in PicsArt. Follow the Step by Step Instructions provided below.

Step 1 : Choose your images. You will basically need two images for this edit.

Image 1 : Beautiful Women in Grayscale.

Image 2 : A ship in Golden Hour.


Step 2 : Open the images in PicsArt.

First, open the image of the women because she will be the main character. We will be adding the Ship at a later stage.

Step 3 : Slide the bottom Toolbar to the left and tap on Draw>Draw. The interface changes.

Step 4 : By default, PicsArt set’s a Blank Empty Layer on top.

Tap on the Layer icon and select the Background Layer. And lower the Opacity so that you can see through the image.

Step 5 : Now drag the empty Layer to the bottom and make it the background Layer.

This is because the ship will be on the backside of our character.

Step 6 : On the empty Layer. You can now bring down the image of the Ship.

In order to add the image of the Ship. Go to Add Photos and select the image of the ship.

Step 7 : So now you can start arranging the Ship to find the right angle and location. You can also tilt the image if you need to.

Once you have found the right location and the right size. You can move ahead and increase the opacity of the original character. Make sure you increase it to full.

Step 8 : Now tap on the Eraser Tool and according to the image, You can select different types of Brushes and Different types of Shapes too.

Step 9 : Gently start erasing the Layer. You will notice how easy it is and how beautiful it makes it look.

So what happens is that. Once you start to erase the above Layer, the bottom Layer comes to show. And this is what a double exposure actually means.

By the way here is the completed image below. It was a great project and i had a great fun in editing this project.
