You can also find other beautiful HD images on pexels.com. You can get both the background as well as foreground images from Pexels.
For this project of ours, we will be using the images above. They are from Pexels. We will first crop out the character and move it towards our background image. Sounds good? Of course it does. We will learn exactly how to change an image background later in this tutorial.
So now that we know both the purpose and also where to find beautiful background Images. So let’s now learn the methods that we can actually use to accomplish our goal.
What are the ways to change an image background in PicsArt?
There actually are a reasonable number of ways to change an image background in PicsArt. But in this particular tutorial. We will focus towards the two popular methods to change an image background in PicsArt. These are;
As expected. Both has their own advantages and disadvantages respectively. Let us get to know more about the two.
“Free Crop Tool” in PicsArt is a selection tool that allows you to make a selection without any fixed shape or size, or without any fixed edges before cropping. “PicsArt Free Crop Tool” can be a great tool to change an image background. But there is a big downside too.
You don’t get the option to change the Brush Style or the Brush Shape. All you get is a regular round shaped brush along with few adjustments options such as increase or decrease the size of the Brush. You are left with just one single brush to work with.
You get plenty of different styles of Brushes. And you always have more options to define each structure and design of the Brush. You can adjust the Size, Opacity, Angle, Jitter, Angle Jitter, Scatter etc. If you can get comfortable or used to the Eraser Tool. You will have more control and flexibility over image editing. How To Change Image Background in PicsArt?
Follow the Step by Step Instructions, In order to Change an Image’s Background by using any of the respective methods.
PicsArt Background Method 1 : Free Crop Tool
You can change an Image’s Background by using the Free Crop Tool. You will basically have to “Crop Out” or “Cut Out” the desired areas and save it as a Clipart. Later, you can use the Clipart in any of your images.
Follow the Instructions provided below in order to Change an Image’s Background by using the PicsArt Free Crop Tool.
Step 1 : Choose an Image as a “Foreground” of which you would like to change the Background. Below is an image of a beautiful women in pink. We will be changing the pink background.
As you can see in the image above. With her fine hair, simple pose, and a streamlined edge. The character is quite easy to to be masked out. Perfect for getting started.
Step 2 : Now choose an another image as a “Background”. This will be the new destination for your character or “Foreground”.
While choosing your images. Do make sure both the images (background & foreground) matches in certain occasions. Such as, Saturation, Tone, Brightness, Contrast etc.
The above mentioned conditions are what most important in image editing. Specifically in manipulation edits.
Step 3 : Once you are done, choosing your images. We may move ahead with the edit.
In order to get real accurate with your Selection. Zoom In your images as much as possible. Also try adjusting the Size of the Brush frequently. Use bigger size for highlighting larger areas and use the smallest size for highlighting difficult to reach areas.
If you are satisfied with the result. Go ahead and save your Selection. The highlighted areas will be saved as a Clipart.
Step 7 : Open the Background image and tap on “Stickers”.
Select the Clipart which we’ve just created and try to find the perfect location for the Clipart.
You can also make additional adjustments such as Change the Blending Modes, Add Effects Fx, Adjust Contrast, Hue, Saturation etc.
You can also adjust the size of the Clipart by pulling up or down the bottom arrow. You can also rotate the Clipart.
You can basically do all of the necessary adjustments. Below is sample of the completed image by using Method 1.
PicsArt Background Method 2 : The Eraser Tool
You can also change an Image’s Background by using the PicsArt Eraser Tool.
Using Method 2 over Method 1 is much more recommendable due to it’s flexibility and usability.
Follow the Step by Step Instructions provided below in order to change image background by using the PicsArt Eraser Tool.
Step 1 : Choose an image as a Foreground. The image below is an image of a Man with Earphones.
As you can see in the image above. The guy is in front of a Blue wall. We will be changing the Blue wall background.
Step 2 : Choose another image as a Background.
Above is an image of a natural looking wall in brown.
Step 4 : Open the Foreground Image and tap on the Eraser Tool.
But before that. Make sure to delete the Blank Empty Layer.

Step 6 : Once you are done with erasing all the unnecessary areas. Go ahead and save the image by tapping on the “✓” present on the top right corner.
Your image will be saved in your gallery.
Step 7 : Open PicsArt. Again.
Step 8 : Now open the Background Image and, Go to Add Photos and insert the extracted foreground.
Step 9 : Do all the necessary adjustments and save your image.

Any of the method listed above works great for changing the background of an image in PicsArt Photo Studio. All you need to do is follow all the steps thoroughly.
