Hello There! This is Daimary John and in this tutorial, How to use the PicsArt Brush Tool. We will not only learn how to use the Brush Tool but we will also learn about it’s various tools and uses.
There actually are 3 Different types of the PicsArt Brush Tool. First is the dedicated “Brushes Tool“, Second is the “Editing Brush Tool” which we can find in many other Editing Tools such as Effects, Curves etc. And on the third we have the “Drawing Brush Tool”.
Let us get to know all of the tools deeply.
1. Brushes Tool : The Brushes Tool is an Editing Tool which you can use to draw in your images with various styles of Brushes and Designs as well. For Example: Stars, Rainbow, Snow etc.
In order to start the PicsArt Brushes Tool, go to PicsArt>Slide the bottom Toolbar to the Left>Brushes. The interface changes.
You will now get to see a new set Brush Designs in the bottom Toolbar and right above it is the Colour Bar. You get a total of 5 different types of Brushes. Let’s get to know all of them in more detail,
Brush #1: A basic way to doodle. It’s a fine simple Brush to Draw in your images.
Brush #2: A Brush designed to draw dotted lines. Probably.
Brush #3: A Soft Brush that works by Creating a white inner line with a dispersed effect on the edges. A perfect tool to create a Neon Glow.
Brush #4 : A Brush which works by drawing Shapes instead of just lines. You can use this tool to Draw a beautiful night scene with Stars. You get a total of 26 different designs to choose. These are:
- Yellow Roses
- Pink Flower
- White Flower
- Beautiful Stars, Stars 2, Stars 3
- Colourful Rainbow
- Love Hearts
- Neon Love Hearts
- Tiny Flowers
- Lined Hearts

Brush #5 : An Eraser Brush that you can use to Erase all of your mistakes.
With all the above mentioned Brushes. You get the option to adjust the Size and the Opacity of the Brush.

Step 1: Open PicsArt.
Step 2: Slide the bottom Toolbar to the left and select PicsArt Brushes Tool.

2. Editing Brush Tool : The Editing Brush Tool is a highlighting tool in PicsArt which can be used with various other Editing Tools. For Example: You can use th.e Brush Tool along with the Eraser Tool to “Erase” and “Add” while you work with the PicsArt Effects Fx.
You do not have to open the brush tool manually. As the Brush Tool comes included when you use other Editing Tools such as Effects, Overlay, Mask’s etc.
With the Brush Tool. You can adjust the Size, Opacity and most often the Hardness. These are all very important functions required to get the perfect edit. Refer to the image above for more information.

3. Drawing Brush Tool : The Drawing Brush Tool is one of the most interesting Editing Tools of PicsArt Photo Studio.
You get a total of 32 different designs of the Drawing Brush Tool. These include Soft, Hard, Spiral etc.
Depending on the Drawing Brush, you can adjust Angle, Spacing, Scatter, Size Jitter etc. You do not get any of these options with all the Brushes. Most Brushes have their own Adjustments Options.
Below is a detailed descriptions of all the options and Adjustments of the Drawing Brush Tool.
Hardness: The hardness option controls the edges of the Brush.
Spacing: The Spacing option adjusts the Space between two lines or shapes of the Drawing Brush Tool.
Scatter: The Scatter option will enable you to randomly spread the designs or the shapes of the Drawing Brush Tool.
Size Jitter: The Size Jitter can be used to Increase or Decrease the size of the Jittered Brush in irregular shapes.
Angle: The Angle option controls the direction or the Angle itself of the Brush. You can adjust the angle right from 0° to all the way upto 359°. Making it almost 360°.
Angle Jitter: You can also adjust the angle of the Jittered Shapes of the Brush. You can adjust the Angle from 0° to 180°.
Squish: The Squish Option can also be used to adjust the Angle or the direction of the Brush.
Hue Jitter: The Hue Jitter option enables you to adjust the Hue of the Jittered Brush Particles.
While adjusting all of the settings above. You also get additional options such as vary Thickness & Opacity. You can also enable or disable the zoomability and the Auto Orient.
